Valuing the Roundup Ready® Soybean Weed Management Program [PDF]
This study examines soybean grower adoption of the Roundup Ready® (RR) weed management program with and without a residual herbicide application, and grower concerns regarding weed resistance to herbicides using telephone survey data from of 357 growers ...

Comparison of Different Glyphosate Brands in Roundup Ready® Soybeans
Roundup Ready® soybeans are used on more than 60% of Iowa’s soybean acreage. Insertion of gene coding for an insensitive target site allows the application of glyphosate (Roundup®) to these soybeans. The rapid adoption of this technology is due largely to the high level of effectiveness of glyphosate and the simplicity of the management system.

Roundup Ready soybeans in Argentina: farm level and aggregate welfare effects
AbstractAlthough adoption rates of genetically modified crops have been staggering in some countries, there is still comparatively little evidence about biotechnology impacts under diverse agroecological and institutional conditions. These knowledge gaps lead to an overly precautious attitude among policy makers and the public.

Disadoption of Agricultural Practices by Livestock Farmers [PDF]
To be effective, policies that encourage farmers to use new technologies or practices need farmers both adopt and also keep using these technologies and practices. Adoption of new technologies has been widely analyzed in the literature. However, there is

Row Width and Population Effects on Roundup Ready Soybean Yield
Many Iowa soybean producers have adopted Roundup Ready (RR) technology on their farms in recent years. Reduced weed control costs, greater flexibility in herbicide application timing, and the potential for “cleaner” soybean fields are often cited as reasons for using RR technology; however, questions remain about RR varieties’ response to row width and

Role of Preemergence Herbicides in Roundup Ready® Soybeans
Roundup Ready® (RR) crops provide growers greater flexibility in weed management due to the ability of glyphosate to control larger weeds than other herbicides. Although this is advantageous, it can lead to yield losses if the glyphosate application is delayed too long.
