Routing and Spectrum Assignment Algorithm Maximizes Spectrum Utilization in Optical Networks

The algorithm achieves high utilization of spectrum resources by considering the consecutiveness of common available spectrum slots among relevant fibers.

Multicast Routing and Spectrum Assignment in Elastic Optical Networks
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, 2012Modulation-Enabled node model is introduced in Elastic Optical Networks (EON), which describes the capability of changing Modulation Level (ML) dynamically. A novel multicast RSA algorithm is proposed and validated. Simulation results show its good performance.
