A model for RPC detectors operating at high rate [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2003
We present a simple model to describe the behavior of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC) exposed to a high particle flux. We show that the RPC current, I, saturates at large flux values and we explain why the dependence of I on the applied voltage V0 is essentially linear.

A New Approach in Modeling the Response of RPC Detectors

open access: yes, 2010
The response of RPC detectors is highly sensitive to environmental parameters. A novel approach is presented to model the response of RPC detectors in a variety of experimental conditions. The algorithm, based on Artificial Neural Networks, has been developed and tested on the CMS RPC commissioning.

Study on Seismic Behavior of Cross-Shaped-Steel-Reinforced RPC Columns

open access: yesBuildings
Based on the hysteretic tests of steel-reinforced reactive powder concrete (RPC) columns and reinforced RPC columns, the finite element numerical models of these two kinds of RPC columns were established by OpenSees (2016).

A model for the formation of defects in RPC bakelite plates at high radiation levels [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Instrumentation, 2013
This study analyzes in detail the defects in bakelite observed in Resistive Plate Counters (RPC) after exposure to high-radiation environment and fluxed with humidified gas mixture at 9 kV voltage. Objective of this study was to identify the nature of defects and their formation mechanism.

DSM Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Multi-View Satellite Stereo Images by RPC Estimation and Integration

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In this paper, we propose a 3D Digital Surface Model (DSM) reconstruction method from uncalibrated Multi-view Satellite Stereo (MVSS) images, where Rational Polynomial Coefficient (RPC) sensor parameters are not available.
