On the Usage of Tetrahedral Background Cells in Nodal Integration of RPIM for 3D Elasto-Static Problems

An Enriched Radial Point Interpolation Method (e-RPIM) for the Analysis of Crack Tip

In this paper, an enriched radial point interpolation method (e‐RPIM) is developed for the determination of crack tip fields. The conventional RBF interpolation is novelly augmented by the suitable trigonometric basis functions to reflect the properties of stresses for the crack tip fields.

This study discussed the effects of shape parameters on the radial point interpolation method (RPIM) accuracy in 2D geometrically nonlinear problems. Four finite deformation problems with compressible Neo-Hookean material are numerically solved with the RPIM algorithm using the multi-quadric (MQ) radial basis function.
