Recombination Events Generating a Novel Rp1 Race Specificity

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2005
Genes at the maize Rpl rust resistance complex often mispair in meiosis, which allows genes to recombine unequally, creating recombinant haplotypes. Four recombinant haplotypes were identified from progeny of an Rpl-D/Rpl-I heterozygote that conferred a ...

Geographic Patterns of Head Morphology in Syngnathus typhle Across Marine Regions

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Morphometric analysis of Syngnathus typhle head shape shows distinct geographic patterns across Baltic, North, Atlantic, and Mediterranean marine regions, driven by variation in snout length, head depth, and eye position. Findings provide a non‐invasive baseline for conservation monitoring.

Harvesting benefits: Exploring the effects of second‐best policies on enhancing soil organic carbon stocks in agriculture

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Agricultural subsidies can be an effective policy tool to enhance soil organic carbon sequestration. This paper assesses the effectiveness of a second‐best hypothetical policy which subsidizes additional canola hectares optimally for each soil zone in Saskatchewan in an effort to increase soil organic carbon.

Consumers' Willingness to Pay for Solar Fuel Adoption in Quebec, Canada: Evidence From a Discrete Choice Experiment

open access: yesThe American Journal of Economics and Sociology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates consumer preferences for renewable fuels in Quebec, with a particular focus on a solar fuel produced through artificial photosynthesis. Using a discrete choice experiment (DCE) and both conditional logit (CL) and random parameters logit (RPL) models, we estimate marginal willingness to pay (MWTP) for key fuel attributes,

Identification of key functional pathways: arginine biosynthesis and IL-17 signalling in placental decidua of unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss through RNA sequencing—a case series

open access: yesMiddle East Fertility Society Journal
Background Three or more consecutive pregnancy losses before the 20th week of gestation constitute recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), and about half of these cases are still unsolved despite routine screening tests.

Elevated CO2 and Temperature Alter Grass Pollen's Ability to Modify Transcriptome and Function of the Nasal Epithelium

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
We exposed human nasal epithelial tissues to pollen from grasses grown under different climate treatments (temperature and CO2). Pollen weakened epithelial tight junctions and altered cytokine‐related gene expression, with similar protein‐level effects.
