Decoding of interleaved RS codes with the Euclidean algorithm

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
A novel method for joint decoding of interleaved Reed-Solomon (RS) codes is presented which is based on an extension of the Euclidean algorithm. This method differs from the known multi-sequence shift register algorithms which is shown by an example.

Repair of RS codes with optimal access and error correction

2020 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2020
We address two aspects of the repair problem of Reed-Solomon codes. First, we propose a new repair scheme for the RS codes constructed in [Tamo-Ye-Barg, IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory, May 2019] which in addition to optimal repair bandwidth is also robust to erroneous information provided by the helper nodes.

Decoding Erasures for Nonsystematic RS Codes

2019 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP), 2019
In the past, RS codes were initially encoded in nonsystematic forms to account for general RS codes that transform all components in a codeword. To avoid information leakage, RS code can also be encoded in nonsystematic forms like the general RS code-based cryptography.

The comparative analysis of LDPC and RS code

2011 International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet), 2011
LDPC code and RS code are error-correcting codes which are researched much more at present, and in the two-dimensional bar code's applications the error correction code plays an important role. In order to accurately identify the two-dimensional bar code, error-correcting code's performance should be further enhanced.

A decoding algorithm for DEC RS codes

Proceedings of IEEE. IEEE Region 10 Conference. TENCON 99. 'Multimedia Technology for Asia-Pacific Information Infrastructure' (Cat. No.99CH37030), 2003
A step-by-step decoding algorithm is proposed for double-error-correcting (DEC) Reed-Solomon (RS) codes of length n=2/sup m/-1. Since the decoding algorithm can directly find the error value at the highest-order position in a received vector without determining the error location polynomial, the decoding procedure is very simple and regular, and ...

An Integrated ECC-MAC Based on RS Code

2009
This paper presents a message authentication code (MAC) with error-correcting capabilities which can be used for wireless transmission. Also the paper introduces a new nonlinear mixing function `Nmix ' which is cryptographically strong compared to other existing method and secured against linear, differential and other conventional cryptanalysis.

An Improved Algorithm of RS Codes Blind Recognition

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
The acquisition of information about channel coding sequences is the research emphasis and difficulties at present, and recognizing the channel coding parameters is the prerequisite for information acquisition. RS Codes are a class of linear block codes as well as a special class of BCH Codes and cyclic codes.

An Anti-Collusion Fingerprinting based on CFF Code and RS Code

2020 International Conference on Cyber-Enabled Distributed Computing and Knowledge Discovery (CyberC), 2020
Data security is becoming more and more important in data exchange. Once the data is leaked, it will pose a great threat to the privacy and property security of users. Copyright authentication and data provenance have become an important requirement of the information security defense mechanism.

The Application of RS code in CCK Modulation Technology

2009 First International Conference on Information Science and Engineering, 2009
RS code is a kind of linear block code. Due to its characteristics such as high capability in error correction, easy realization and so on, RS code has been widely applied in wireless communication systems. In this paper, the algorithms of RS encoding and decoding are introduced firstly, then they are applied to CCK(Complementary Code Keying ...

Modified Karatsuba multiplier for key equation solver in RS Code

Radioelectronics and Communications Systems, 2015
Finite field arithmetics are often used in linear block codes such as BCH and Reed–Solomon codes and also in cryptographic algorithms. Finite field multipliers play an important role and consume a significant amount of area in VLSI design. This paper presents an improved generalized Karatsuba multiplier.
