Thermal Field–Enhanced Electro‐, Photo‐, and Photoelectrocatalytic Processes: Fundamentals, Material Design, and Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Overview of thermal field–enhanced electro‐, photo‐, and photoelectrocatalytic processes: fundamentals, material design, and applications. As a very attractive approach to energy conversion and storage, electrocatalytic, photocatalytic, and photoelectrocatalytic strategies have gained increasing attention in the past decades.

Smartphone-based pathogen diagnosis in urinary sepsis patients. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
BackgroundThere is an urgent need for rapid, sensitive, and affordable diagnostics for microbial infections at the point-of-care. Although a number of innovative systems have been reported that transform mobile phones into potential diagnostic tools, the

Advances in Double‐Stranded DNA Targeting Technologies

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Double‐stranded DNA (dsDNA) plays a crucial role in genetic information storage and disease management, but its inherent stability limits access to internal bases. To overcome this challenge, various high‐specificity molecular targeting technologies have been developed to destabilize the DNA structure.

The Reaction‐to‐Fire Performance of Intumescent Coating After Ageing by Thermal and Moisture Exposure

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Materials and products age with time and their properties change. It is known that, for example, the mechanical strength may be deteriorated from ageing. To understand the ageing effect on the fire behaviour of materials and products is important to maintain the safety level of the construction or application.

Colorimetric and Fluorimetric Multiple Metal Ion Sensing Using Naphthalene‐Based Schiff Base

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
A naphthalene‐based Schiff base can detect different metal ions by fluorimetry and colorimetry. The coordination compounds of different metal ions are studied by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and their properties investigated in solution. ABSTRACT A novel Schiff base ligand functionalized with a naphthalene moiety has been developed as colorimetric ...

DETECTION OF POTATO VIRUS Y (PVY) BY REVERSE-TRANSCRIPTION LOOP-MEDIATED NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION (RT-LAMP) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Potato virus Y (PVY), a type member of the genus Potyvirus (family Potyviridae), is currently the most important virus infecting the potato crop. PVY is also a dangerous pathogen of the tomato, pepper, and tobac-co.

RT-LAMP for BYDV-PAS and BYDV-MAV detection v1

open access: yes
A rapid test was developed primarily to support QC of lab colonies, and testing colonies prior to starting lab experiments. It could also be utilised for general BYDV testing of aphids from trap samples for rapid surveillance. An RT-LAMP assay was developed to detect the presence of Luteovirus pashordei (BYDV-PAS) and Luteovirus mavhordei (BYDV-MAV) in

Photocaged and Water‐Soluble Glucose Functionalization for Spatiotemporal Acidification Pathways

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Light‐controlled glucose release from a water‐soluble coumarin photocage enables spatiotemporal acid generation in enzyme‐driven chemical reaction networks. ABSTRACT The spatiotemporal control of complex molecular systems, such as chemical reaction networks (CRNs), requires reagents and reactive species that can be activated both efficiently and ...

A General Platform for the Light‐Enabled Generation of α‐Fluoro Radicals Leveraging Simple Additives

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐free, visible‐light protocol enables mild generation of α‐fluoro radicals from α‐halo fluorinated precursors using sodium iodide and 2,6‐lutidine. In situ halide exchange and C–I homolysis afford broad access to fluorinated esters, sulphones, and nitriles via coupling with diverse partners.

PLoS One [PDF]

open access: yes
A rapid, cost-effective diagnostic test for the detection of acute HIV-1 infection is highly desired. Isothermal amplification techniques, such as reverse-transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP), exhibit characteristics that are ...
