Diurnal changes of Rubisco in response to elevated CO2, temperature and nitrogen in wheat grown under temperature gradient tunnels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Growth at elevated CO2 and temperature often leads to decreased Rubisco activity. We investigated the effects of increased CO2, temperature and nitrogen on the diurnal changes in the control of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase (Rubisco)

The Diverse AAA+ Machines that Repair Inhibited Rubisco Active Sites

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2017
Gaseous carbon dioxide enters the biosphere almost exclusively via the active site of the enzyme ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco).

Mechanism of High Photosynthetic Capacity in BC2F4 LinesDerived from a Cross between Oryza sativa and Wild Relatives O. rufipogon

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2005
We found that several BC2F4 lines had high leaf photosynthetic rates under light-saturated and ambient CO2 conditions. These lines are progenies of BC2F1 plants with high photosynthetic capacities which were generated by backcrossing between Oryza ...

Heat stress effects on crop performance and tools for tolerance breeding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Abiotic stress is one of the most common causes of crop deficit and loss and hence an important area of study. Moreover, concerns regarding global climate change over past decades mean the study of different abiotic stresses appears to be essential if ...

Growth in elevated CO2 enhances temperature response of photosynthesis in wheat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The temperature dependence of C3 photosynthesis may be altered by the growth environment. The effects of long-term growth in elevated CO2 on photosynthesis temperature response have been investigated in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown in controlled

Structure, function and assembly of Rubisco activase

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2013
In higher plants, the P‐loop ATPase Rubisco activase (Rca) helps coordinate the light and dark reactions of photosynthesis by catalyzing the release of inhibitors from Rubisco. When ATP levels drop or the temperature rises, Rca activity falls off, Rubisco inactivates, and atmospheric carbon fixation ceases.

Thermal acclimation of photosynthetic activity and RuBisCO content in two hybrid poplar clones.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The mechanistic bases of thermal acclimation of net photosynthetic rate (An) are still difficult to discern, and the data sets available are scarce, particularly for hybrid poplar.

Absolute Quantification of Major Photosynthetic Protein Complexes in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Using Quantification Concatamers (QconCATs)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
For modeling approaches in systems biology, knowledge of the absolute abundances of cellular proteins is essential. One way to gain this knowledge is the use of quantification concatamers (QconCATs), which are synthetic proteins consisting of proteotypic
