Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Modular feature selection using relative importance factors

open access: yes, 2004
Feature selection plays an important role in finding relevant or irrelevant features in classification. Genetic algorithms (GAs) have been used as conventional methods for classifiers to adaptively evolve solutions for classification problems.

Learning Multi-Tree Classification Models with Ant Colony Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a meta-heuristic for solving combinatorial optimization problems, inspired by the behaviour of biological ant colonies. One of the successful applications of ACO is learning classification models (classifiers).

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

A machine learning approach to predict the S&P 500 absolute percent change

open access: yesDiscover Artificial Intelligence
Models of the stock market often focus on predicting the direction of the stock market. Instead of following this approach, we created a model to predict the daily absolute percent change of the S&P 500.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Micro-Blog Sentiment Classification Method Based on the Personality and Bagging Algorithm

open access: yesFuture Internet, 2020
Integrated learning can be used to combine weak classifiers in order to improve the effect of emotional classification. Existing methods of emotional classification on micro-blogs seldom consider utilizing integrated learning.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Evolving Fuzzy Rule-based Classifiers from Data Streams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A new approach to the online classification of streaming data is introduced in this paper. It is based on a self-developing (evolving) fuzzy-rule-based (FRB) classifier system of Takagi-Sugeno ( eTS) type.
