Improving translation quality of rule-based machine translation [PDF]
This paper proposes machine learning techniques, which help disambiguate word meaning. These methods focus on considering the relationship between a word and its surroundings, described as context information in the paper. Context information is produced from rule-based translation such as part-of-speech tags, semantic concept, case relations and so on.

Automatic evaluation of the quality of machine translation of a scientific text: the results of a five-year-long experiment [PDF]
We report on various approaches to automatic evaluation of machine translation quality and describe three widely used methods. These methods, i.e. methods based on string matching and n-gram models, make it possible to compare the quality of machine ...

An Advanced Approach for Rule Based English to Bengali Machine Translation [PDF]
This paper introduces an advanced, efficient approach for rule based English to Bengali (E2B) machine translation (MT), where Penn-Treebank parts of speech (PoS) tags, HMM (Hidden Markov Model) Tagger is used. Fuzzy-If-Then-Rule approach is used to select the lemma from rule-based-knowledge.

Not by chance. Russian aspect in rule-based machine translation [PDF]
The aim of this paper is twofold: it illustrates the benefits of rule-based instead of statistical machine translation, and it provides a starting point for the machine translation of the Russian aspect into English. Rule-based machine translation is still promising, from both a computational and theoretical point of view, because by implementing rules
