De novo stolon organogenesis in potato leaf callus elicited by Agrobacterium tumefaciens stimulus

Agrobacterium tumefaciens triggers stolon regeneration from potato leaf callus independent of T‐DNA insertion, suggesting a strategy to reprogram callus identity and expand the potential of tissue regeneration. ABSTRACT Plant cells can undergo cellular reprogramming, enabling pluripotent callus formation from excised leaves.

ABSTRACT Apple blotch is a fungal disease of increasing importance in European apple cultivation. Infection by Diplocarpon coronariae leads to premature leaf abscission in summer, weakening tree vigour and exacerbating harvest losses. Developing resistant cultivars represents a promising preventive strategy.

A new species of jewel‐babbler (Cinclosomatidae: Ptilorrhoa) from the Southern Fold Mountains of Papua New Guinea

Based on distinctive morphological and vocal characters we describe a new species of jewel‐babbler (genus Ptilorrhoa) from the forested karst of the Southern Fold Mountains in Papua New Guinea. The description is based on camera trap data and is presented in accordance with ICZN Declaration 45.
