Abstract This scientific report provides an update of the Xylella spp. host plant database, aiming to provide information and scientific support to risk assessors, risk managers and researchers dealing with Xylella spp. Upon a mandate of the European Commission, EFSA created and regularly updates a database of host plant species of Xylella spp.

S‐Adenosylmethionine‐dependent methyltransferases are emerging enzymes for selective biocatalytic alkylation. Introduction of the direct sulfurylation pathway from S. cerevisiae improved methylation up to 17‐fold, allowing straight‐forward isolation of the methylated products.

Biosynthesis of Furocoumarins: Further Studies on Ruta graveolens
The Authors have studied the biosynthesis of some furocoumarins contained in Ruta graveolens. Labeled 5,7- and 7,8-dihydroxycoumarins have been administered to the herb, however practically no incorporation of radioactivity was observed in the isolated furocoumarins.
