Doping In Vivo Alkylation in E. coli by Introducing the Direct Sulfurylation Pathway of S. cerevisiae

S‐Adenosylmethionine‐dependent methyltransferases are emerging enzymes for selective biocatalytic alkylation. Introduction of the direct sulfurylation pathway from S. cerevisiae improved methylation up to 17‐fold, allowing straight‐forward isolation of the methylated products.

Biosynthesis of Furocoumarins: Further Studies on Ruta graveolens

The Authors have studied the biosynthesis of some furocoumarins contained in Ruta graveolens. Labeled 5,7- and 7,8-dihydroxycoumarins have been administered to the herb, however practically no incorporation of radioactivity was observed in the isolated furocoumarins.
