Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Millimeter-wave FET modeling based on a frequency extrapolation approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
An empirical distributed model, based on electromagnetic analysis and standard S-parameter measurements up to microwave frequencies, is shown to be capable of accurate small-signal predictions up to the millimeter-wave range.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Uncertainty Assessment of S-Parameters in Vector Network Analyzers Under De-Embedding Conditions

open access: yesMetrology
This study proposes a method to quantify uncertainty in the scattering parameter (S-parameter) measurements when using de-embedding techniques. After calibrating the measurement setup with reference standards, de-embedding algorithms are employed to ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Band-Pass Filter Microstrip at 3 GHz Frequency Using Square Open-Loop Resonator for S-Band Radar Applications

open access: yesJurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi, 2020
In telecommunication, filters are often used to pass the desired frequency. One of them is the Band-Pass Filter (BPF) which is passing signals between the upper cut-off frequency and the lower cut-off frequency.

One-Loop Calculation of the Oblique S Parameter in Higgsless Electroweak Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a one-loop calculation of the oblique S parameter within Higgsless models of electroweak symmetry breaking and analyze the phenomenological implications of the available electroweak precision data.

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking from Gauge/Gravity Duality

open access: yes, 2010
We use the gauge/gravity duality to study a model of walking technicolor. The latter is a phenomenologically promising framework for dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking.
