The s process in rotating low-mass AGB stars [PDF]
Aims. We investigate the s-process during the AGB phase of stellar models whose cores are enforced to rotate at rates consistent with asteroseismology observations of their progenitors and successors. Methods.

The nucleosynthesis of heavy stable nuclei by successive captures of neutrons in a weak neutron flux (the s-process) is terminated at large atomic weight by alpha decay to isotopes of lead. We analyze the details of this termination and calculate the abundances of lead and bismuth isotopes synthesized by the exposure of lighter nuclei to neutrons.

A mild, operationally convenient, and practical method for the synthesis of synthetically useful N-arylsulfonylimines from N-(arylsulfonyl)benzylamines using K2S2O8 in the presence of pyridine as a base is reported herein. In addition, a “one-pot” tandem

The R-Process Alliance: Discovery of the First Metal-poor Star with a Combined r- and s-process Element Signature [PDF]
We present a high-resolution (R ∼ 35,000), high signal-to-noise ratio (S/N > 200) Magellan/MIKE spectrum of the star RAVE J094921.8−161722, a bright (V = 11.3) metal-poor red giant star with [Fe/H] = −2.2, identified as a carbon-enhanced metal-poor (CEMP)

GALACTIC CHEMICAL EVOLUTION: THE IMPACT OF THE 13C-POCKET STRUCTURE ON THE s-PROCESS DISTRIBUTION [PDF]
The solar s-process abundances have been analyzed in the framework of a Galactic Chemical Evolution (GCE) model. The aim of this work is to implement the study by Bisterzo et al., who investigated the effect of one of the major uncertainties of ...

S stars and s-process in the Gaia era [PDF]
Context. S stars are transition objects between M-type giants and carbon stars on the asymptotic giant branch (AGB). They are characterized by overabundances of s-process elements.

Scalable process discovery and conformance checking [PDF]
Considerable amounts of data, including process events, are collected and stored by organisations nowadays. Discovering a process model from such event data and verification of the quality of discovered models are important steps in process mining.

Photoneutron cross sections for Ni isotopes: Toward understanding (n,γ) cross sections relevant to weak s -process nucleosynthesis [PDF]
Photoneutron cross sections were measured for $^{58}$Ni, $^{60}$Ni, $^{61}$Ni, and $^{64}$Ni at energies between the one-neutron and two-neutron thresholds using quasi-monochromatic $\gamma$-ray beams produced in laser Compton-scattering at the NewSUBARU

A Brief Review of the s-process of Nucleosynthesis [PDF]
A brief overview is presented of the s-process of nucleosynthesis. Special emphasis is put on some of its nuclear physics aspects, and in particular on the uncertainties that still affect the rates of the 13C(α,n)16O and 22Ne(α,n)25Mg neutron producing reactions.
