AIF1+CSF1R+ MSCs, induced by TNF‐α, act to generate an inflammatory microenvironment and promote hepatocarcinogenesis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Mesenchymal stem cells subset, educated by TNF‐α, are involved to generate inflammatory microenvironment and promote hepatocarcinogenesis Abstract Background and Aims Increasing evidence suggests that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) home to injured local tissues and the tumor microenvironment in the liver.

Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

Emergence of highly profibrotic and proinflammatory Lrat+Fbln2+ HSC subpopulation in alcoholic hepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Mechanism of activation of NDR protein kinase by the HMOB1 protein [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Serine/threonine kinases of the nuclear Dbf2-related (NDR) family are highly conserved throughout the eukaryotic world. Members of this kinase family are implicated in various aspects of the regulation of cell division and cell morphology. It has been

Dysregulated genes in podocytes in different FSGS models.

open access: yes, 2020
An overlap of three independent mRNA expression profiles (miR-193, Actn4-/-, Fyn-/-;Cd2ap+/-,) during FSGS reveals nine commonly upregulated genes (red arrow) and one downregulated gene (green arrow).

Identification of new genes associated with melanoma

open access: yes, 2011
Purpose: Repeated failures in melanoma therapy made clear that the molecular mechanisms leading to melanoma are still poorly understood. Here, we aim to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the transcriptional profiles and signaling pathways ...

Metabolic syndrome influences cardiac gene expression pattern at the transcript level in male ZDF rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Metabolic syndrome (coexisting visceral obesity, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension) is a prominent risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, however, its effect on cardiac gene expression pattern is unclear ...

Functional association network analysis of 2D MS identified proteins.

open access: yes, 2012
A. Protein–protein interactions among the 30 identified proteins were analyzed using STRING 8.0. Twelve of the proteins were functionally associated with the major cytoskeletal network. B.

Recent Advances in Virus–Host Interactions, Antiviral Bioactive Compounds, and Breeding for Disease Resistance of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Basic research on the PEDV infection cycle and virus–host interactions advances the development of anti‐PEDV drugs and disease‐resistant breeding and helps strengthen disease prevention and control while reducing economic losses in the swine industry.
