Proteolytic remodelling of the extracellular matrix by pericytes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Pericytes are specialised perivascular cells intimately connected with endothelial cells and essential for the maintenance of vascular beds. They contribute to the formation and remodelling of the extracellular matrix by actively secreting proteases and protease inhibitors.

Abstract 3587: Protein S100A10: Expression and correlation with sensitivity to oxaliplatin in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yes, 2010
Introduction: Oxaliplatin (L-OHP) is a key drug in colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment. However, the individual response to L-OHP-based chemotherapy is still unpredictable.

Mapping malignant T‐cell states and immune circuits in Sézary syndrome by single‐cell analysis

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Peripheral blood single‐cell RNA‐seq from leukaemic CTCL defined three malignant T‐cell programmes: MTC CM, MTC Reg and MTC E/EM, each with distinct features and candidate vulnerabilities. For example, inferred immune circuits highlighted actionable IL‐10/JAK–TYK2–STAT3 signalling, KIR–MHC I inhibitory interactions and myeloid/B‐cell inflammatory and ...

Glia Are Bussin’: How Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Enlighten the Role of Neuroglia in Spinal Cord Injury and Regeneration

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 6, June 2026.
Neuroglia have been extensively profiled using single‐cell genomics, improving our understanding of their dynamics after spinal cord injury. A meta‐analysis of five single‐cell time‐course genomic studies reveals heterogeneity underscoring important challenges for interpretation.

Cell surface protease activation during RAS transformation: Critical role of the plasminogen receptor, S100A10 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The link between oncogenic RAS expression and the acquisition of the invasive phenotype has been attributed to alterations in cellular activities that control degradation of the extracellular matrix.

Pathological Roles of Astrocytes in Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 4, April 2026.
TBI induces intrinsic astrocytic changes, including reactive astrogliosis, A1 and A2 polarization, ion channels activation, pathological edema, oxidative stress, and metabolic dysregulation. These injury‐responsive astrocytes regulate neuroinflammation and tissue remodeling through dynamic crosstalk with microglia, macrophages, vascular endothelial ...

Molecular Markers Distinguishing Early‐Stage Mycosis Fungoides From Atopic Dermatitis Skin Lesions

open access: yesExperimental Dermatology, Volume 35, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common type of primary cutaneous T‐cell lymphoma, a disease characterized by malignant T cells that home to the skin. In early stages, clinical presentation is often indistinguishable from benign chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis (AD), posing a challenge for proper diagnosis and ...

Chemotherapy-induced S100A10 recruits KDM6A to facilitate OCT4-mediated breast cancer stemness.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 2020
Breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) play a critical role in cancer recurrence and metastasis. Chemotherapy induces BCSC specification through increased expression of pluripotency factors, but how their expression is regulated is not fully understood.

S100A10 FACILITATES THE TUMOR PROMOTING ASSOCIATION OF MACROPHAGES WITH TUMOR CELLS

open access: yes, 2011
Hematopoietic cells are recruited to and co-opted by the growing tumor making expansive tumor growth possible. Although several cell types become associated with the growing tumor, macrophages play a fundamental role.

Randomised, Double‐Blinded, Placebo‐Controlled Challenge Test With Single Food Items in Dogs With Atopic Dermatitis and Adverse Food Reactions

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 247-256, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Identification of offending foods in dogs with adverse food reactions is usually based on “deterioration” during open food challenges. Objectives To examine the placebo effect during double‐blinded, placebo‐controlled food challenges using a predefined set of criteria for relapse.
