AbstractGametophytic self‐incompatibility (GSI) is controlled by a highly polymorphic locus called the S‐locus, which is an important factor that can result in seedless fruit in Citrus. The S1 self‐incompatibility locus‐linked pollen 3.15 gene (S1‐3.15) belongs to a type of S locus gene. The role of S1‐3.15 in the SI reaction of Citrus has not yet been

Gene transfer systems were developed in Rubrivivax (Rx.) gelatinosus S1. First, a system for conjugative transfer of mobilizable plasmids from Escherichia coli to Rx. gelatinosus S1 was established. Secondly, optimal conditions for the transformation of Rx. gelatinosus S1 by electroporation were determined.

Buchnera aphidicola is a prokaryotic endosymbiont found in specialized cells of the aphid Schizaphis graminum. Many of the previously cloned B. aphidicola genes are preceded by a poor ribosome-binding site. Ribosomal protein S1 (RpsA) allows the translation of messenger RNAs that lack or have a poor ribosome binding site. We have cloned and sequenced a

Infectious bronchitis (IB), caused by infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), is a highly contagious respiratory disease in chickens, causing significant economic losses in poultry industry worldwide. IBV has a high frequency of genetic mutation and recombination in its genome, particularly in the S1 gene, resulting in the emergence of several new IBV ...

In order to select mutants that would help to characterize the post-transcriptional regulation of rpsA, we constructed a strain in which the growth rate on lactose minimal medium is determined by the amount of an rpsA-lacZ' alpha-fragment fusion protein produced, even when this is encoded by a high-copy-number plasmid. In the parental strain, synthesis

Molecular cloning and characterization of buffalo alpha(s1)-casein gene.
DNA sequence : the journal of DNA sequencing and mapping, 2008Buffaloes in Indian subcontinent play an important role as the producer of milk and milk products. The alpha(s1)-casein constitutes 38% of the total milk proteins. The present study was carried out to characterize the gene in Murrah breed of Riverine buffalo.
