Relation between spectral changes and the presence of the lower kHz QPO in the neutron-star low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1636-53 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We fitted the $3-180$-keV spectrum of all the observations of the neutron-star low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1636$-$53 taken with the {\it Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer} using a model that includes a thermal Comptonisation component.

3D Soft Hydrogels Induce Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells “Deep” Quiescence

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional soft hydrogels mimicking the bone marrow niche induce deep quiescence in human mesenchymal stem cells. Unlike 2D culture, 3D matrices halt proliferation, regulate cell‐cycle and quiescence markers, and downregulate mTORC1 signaling, preserving stem cell phenotype and therapeutic potential ex vivo.

Galilean symmetry in generalized abelian Schr\"odinger-Higgs models with and without gauge field interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a generalization of nonrelativistic Schr\"odinger-Higgs Lagrangian by introducing a nonstandard kinetic term. We show that this model is Galilean invariant, we construct the conserved charges associated to the symmetries and realize the ...

Antimicrobial Activity of the Quinoline Derivative HT61 against Staphylococcus aureus Biofilms. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Staphylococcus aureus biofilms are a significant problem in health care settings, partly due to the presence of a nondividing, antibiotic-tolerant subpopulation. Here we evaluated treatment of S.

Tailoring Vascular‐Immune Homeostasis via Manganese‐DNA Complex‐Armed Immunogenic Extracellular Vesicles for Pancreatic Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Mn2⁺–tumor DNA complexes encapsulated in dendritic cell (DC)– derived immunogenic extracellular vesicles (EVDC@Mn‐DNA) act as a DC‐specific cGAS– STING activator. EVDC@Mn‐DNA treatment enhances intratumoral DC activation, improves tumor vascular function, promotes CD8⁺ T cell activity, and suppresses pancreatic tumor growth,

The circumstellar environment of T Tau S at high spatial and spectral resolution

open access: yes, 2005
We have obtained the first high spatial (0.05'') and spectral (R~35000) resolution 2 micron spectrum of the T Tau S tight binary system using adaptive optics on the Keck II telescope. We have also obtained the first 3.8 and 4.7 micron images that resolve

GEMS Survey Data and Catalog [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We describe the data reduction and object cataloging for the GEMS survey, a large-area (800 arcmin(2)) two-band (F606W and F850LP) imaging survey with the Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope, centered on the Chandra Deep Field-South.

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...
