LED spectrum slicing for ZCC SAC-OCDMA coding system

7th International Symposium on High-capacity Optical Networks and Enabling Technologies, 2010
In this paper we propose a Zero Cross-correlation (ZCC) code in Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) CDMA system based on amplitude spectral encoding of low-cost broadband sources such as Light Emitting Diode (LED). We also study how the sliced spectrum of LED can be used as a cost-effective light source in ZCC code.

Performance of SAC-OCDMA codes for multipoint fiber vibration sensing

2014 IEEE 5th International Conference on Photonics (ICP), 2014
Performance of Spectral Amplitude Coding — Optical Code Division Multiple Access (SACOCDMA) based fiber vibration sensor multiplexing using Multi-Service (MS) code has been investigated. The aim of the setup was to implement a multipoint fiber vibration sensing with less complexity, efficient performance against multiple access interference (MAI) and ...

Performance analysis for the bit-error rate of SAC-OCDMA systems

Infrared Physics & Technology, 2015
Abstract Under low power, Gaussian statistics by invoking the central limit theorem is feasible to predict the upper bound in the spectral-amplitude-coding optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) system. However, this case severely underestimates the bit-error rate (BER) performance of the system under high power assumption.

Influence of different codes on the performance of SAC‐OCDMA over FSO link

International Journal of Communication Systems
SummaryThis paper evaluates the performance of a spectral‐amplitude‐coding optical code division multiple access (SAC‐OCDMA) system over a free space optical (FSO) communication link under various weather conditions such as fog, snow, and rain. The system uses different code families, including modified quadrature congruence (MQC), random diagonal (RD),

Impact of different transceiver design on the performance of SAC-OCDMA systems

2014 2nd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED), 2014
Multiple-access interference (MAI) and phase-induced intensity noise (PIIN) are the principal limitations for the performance of spectral-amplitude-coding optical codedivision multiple-access (SAC-OCDMA) systems. Focusing on increasing the performance and reducing the bit-error rate (BER), the ideal transceiver design should be accentuated.

Development of ZCCC for multimedia service using SAC-OCDMA systems

Optical Fiber Technology, 2017
Abstract Spectral Amplitude Coding – Optical Code Division Multiple Access systems are gaining popularity due to their property of very low multiple access interference. A new code with zero cross correlation, termed as Zero Cross Correlation Code (ZCCC) is proposed.

Single photodiode detection for interference elimination in SAC-OCDMA systems

2013 IEEE 4th International Conference on Photonics (ICP), 2013
A single photodiode detection (SPD) technique for interference suppression in spectral-amplitude coding optical code-division multiple-access (SAC-OCDMA) systems is investigated in this paper. Its benefits to eliminate multiple-access interference (MAI) and phase-induced intensity noise (PIIN) which are the major noises in incoherent SAC-OCDMA systems.

Enhanced Performances of SAC-OCDMA System by Using Polarization Encoding

Journal of Optical Communications, 2018
Abstract This article presents a novel encoder technique of spectral amplitude coded multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) systems. The proposed technique is based on two orthogonal polarization states of the same one dimensional optical code. This method is usually applied to increase the number of simultaneous users in a network, and it can

A new approach for enabling bipolar encoding in high-rate SAC-OCDMA systems

2015 International Conference on Communications, Signal Processing, and their Applications (ICCSPA'15), 2015
In this paper, a new two-code keying approach to enable bipolar encoding in high-rate spectral-amplitude-coding optical code-division multiple-access (SAC-OCDMA) systems is suggested. The analytical expressions are developed for the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and bit-error rate (BER) of SAC-OCDMA system based on the recommended approach using multi ...
