Abstract A general method for the electrosynthesis of anionic fluoro complexes of transition metals has been developed by the oxidation of sacrificial metal anodes in 20% HF medium at room temperature and at an applied potential of 2–8 V. Some mixed-valent complexes, e.g. Fe2F5·2H2O and Fe2F5·7H2O, have also been obtained by the same method. K2[MnF5]·

Additive manufacturing is now leveraged to digitally fabricate complex and customized sand molds for castings. Mathematical equations can be employed in design to gracefully vary strut sizings volumetrically within lattices and the corresponding sand molds can be realized with binder jetting additive manufacturing.

In this study, particle polyelectrolyte complexes (PPECs) were formed by mixing cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) and silica nanoparticles using the jet mixing technique. Within certain limits, the size of the formed PPECs could be controlled. The aim was to prepare PPECs with embedded sacrificial bonds, similar to those found in bones.
