We report an unusual case of Streptococcus pneumoniae sacroiliitis in a previously healthy 31-year-old woman. Six cases of pneumococcal sacroiliitis have been reported; the only two cases in adults occurred in young women in the preantibiotic era. Our patient had fever and a depressed level of consciousness, with subsequent right buttock and thigh pain.

Two cases of septic sacroiliac (SI) joint arthritis are presented to illustrate the difficulty of diagnosing and treating this uncommon osteoarticular infection. The patients presented are a 68-year-old woman with septic sacroiliitis caused by Streptococcus agalactiae and a 20-year-old man with Salmonella infantis infection involving the SI joint.

Septic Sacroiliitis in Children
Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 2008We retrospectively reviewed the clinical, laboratory, and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging features of 8 patients with septic sacroiliitis. The age of the patients ranged from 4.3 to 15.2 years. None of the patients were accurately diagnosed before presentation. Misdiagnosis was largely caused by the wide variety of clinical symptoms including hip, back,

Pyogenic Sacroiliitis in Children
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1993Clinical findings, roentgenograms, computed axial tomography (CT scan), radionuclide studies, and management are reviewed in seven children with pyogenic sacroiliitis (PS). High suspicion and complete examination of the pelvis and sacroiliac (SI) joint, including flexion, abduction, external rotation, and extension (FABERE) test, are essential for ...

Sacroiliitis secondary to isotretinoin
Australasian Journal of Dermatology, 2011ABSTRACTReported is the case of a 17‐year old male with sacroiliitis confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) while undergoing isotretinoin treatment for acne vulgaris. The cessation of isotretinoin and symptomatic treatment resolved the symptoms within 6 weeks, with no signs of sacroiliitis on repeat MRI 10 months later.

Infantile infectious sacroiliitis
Pediatric Radiology, 1985Two infants with pyogenic sacroiliitis are presented. In both babies, the clinical findings were initially attributed to septic arthritis of the ipsilateral hip. The correct diagnosis was not established in either infant until radionuclide scanning showed increased uptake in the ipsilateral sacroiliac joints.

Sacroiliitis in severe psoriasis
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1976In 100 consecutive patients admitted to the hospital for control of severe psoriasis, 25 had radiologic changes characteristic of psoriatic arthritis. Twenty had erosions and mild sclerosis around the sacroiliac joint; in eight of these, asymptomatic sacroiliac changes were the sole manifestation of musculoskeletal disease.

Sacroiliitis and acne conglobata
Clinical Rheumatology, 1985A 24-year old man developed a bilateral sacroiliitis in association with acne conglobata. The acne conglobata was followed after the use of prednisone during 9 months. The prednisone was taken for a severe form of sarcoidosis. This may be a new instance of a relatively uncommon and poorly understood relationship between a particular form of acne and ...
