Development of an immunochromatography assay for salinomycin and methyl salinomycin in honey [PDF]
This study developed a sensitive monoclonal antibody, 3A3, to salinomycin (SLM) and methyl salinomycin (MLN). The monoclonal antibody 3A3 is highly specific for SLM with an antibody halfinhibitory concentration (IC 50) of 0.86 ng/mL, a detection limit of 0.28 ng/mL, and a linear detection range of 0.28–2.26 ng/mL.

Development of an ELISA for salinomycin and depletion kinetics of salinomycin residues in poultry
Food Additives and Contaminants, 1995Salinomycin is widely used as a feed additive to control coccidiosis in the broiler industry world-wide. EC legislation on veterinary drug residues will soon be extended to cover poultry. This will require the development of rapid assays to screen for the presence of residual concentrations of this and other drugs in poultry meat.

Salinomycin poisoning in horses
Veterinary Record, 1987Six cases of accidental salinomycin poisoning in horses are described. The horses were fed a contaminated ration and presented clinical signs which were extremely varied in nature and severity. However, the range of signs, including anorexia, colic, weakness and ataxia bore similarities to those described in horses poisoned with the related ionophore ...

Salinomycin toxicosis in horses
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 2007Abstract Case Description—A 4-month-old American Paint filly was evaluated because of sudden onset of ataxia that progressed to recumbency. Five additional horses from the same and neighboring premises developed signs of poor performance, generalized weakness, ataxia, and recumbency; 2 of those horses were also evaluated.

Salinomycin, a commercially significant coccidiostat isolated from Streptomyces albus, has been synthesised from three principal fragments. Key steps include (a) the use of η3-allylmolybdenum cationic complexes 21a,b for the stereoselective construction of two contiguous stereogenic centres in fragment 5a; (b) the electrophilic cyclisation of 2-(prop-2-

Production of Monoclonal Antibodies to Salinomycin
Hybridoma, 1986Protein conjugates of salinomycin were prepared and utilized to produce murine monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) in the BALB/c-P3X63.Ag 8.653 fusion system. Several antibodies were cloned, stabilized, and evaluated for cross-reactivity to other ionophorous antibiotics.

Stereoselective Synthesis of the Western Hemisphere of Salinomycin
Organic Letters, 2006[structure: see text]. A convergent and module-based strategy for the asymmetric synthesis of the western hemisphere (C1-C17 fragment) of salinomycin has been devised. This new synthetic approach relies on highly stereoselective C-glycosidation and aldol processes.

CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY OF SALINOMYCIN AND ITS ANALOGUES
Targets in Heterocyclic Systems, 2015Natural carboxylic polyether ionophores such as salinomycin, monensin, and lasalocid have been objects of great interest because of their antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, and antiviral activities. Recently, it has been found that polyether ionophores might be also important chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of cancer.

Chemical biology of salinomycin
Tetrahedron, 2018Abstract Cancer stem cells (CSC) have been shown to be refractory to conventional therapeutic agents, can promote metastasis, and have been linked to cancer relapse. The natural product Salinomycin has been identified by means of high throughput phenotypic screening as a selective killer of CSC in vitro and in vivo. In this article we comprehensively
