Development of an immunochromatography assay for salinomycin and methyl salinomycin in honey [PDF]

open access: yesFood and Agricultural Immunology, 2019
This study developed a sensitive monoclonal antibody, 3A3, to salinomycin (SLM) and methyl salinomycin (MLN). The monoclonal antibody 3A3 is highly specific for SLM with an antibody halfinhibitory concentration (IC 50) of 0.86 ng/mL, a detection limit of 0.28 ng/mL, and a linear detection range of 0.28–2.26 ng/mL.

Development of an ELISA for salinomycin and depletion kinetics of salinomycin residues in poultry

Food Additives and Contaminants, 1995
Salinomycin is widely used as a feed additive to control coccidiosis in the broiler industry world-wide. EC legislation on veterinary drug residues will soon be extended to cover poultry. This will require the development of rapid assays to screen for the presence of residual concentrations of this and other drugs in poultry meat.

Polylactic Acid Based Biodegradable Hybrid Block Copolymeric Nanoparticle Mediated Co-delivery of Salinomycin and Doxorubicin for Cancer Therapy.

International journal of pharmaceutics, 2023
Existence of cancer stem cells (CSCs) are primarily responsible for chemoresistance, cancer reoccurrence and treatment failure in cancer patients. Eliminating CSCs along with bulk tumor is a necessity to achieve complete cancer inhibition.

Potent salinomycin C20-O-alkyl oxime derivative SAL-98 efficiently inhibits tumor growth and metastasis by affecting Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway.

Biochemical Pharmacology, 2023
The dysregulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is closely related to tumorigenesis, metastasis and cancer stem cell maintenance. Salinomycin is a polyether ionophore antibiotic that selectively eliminates cancer stem cells by inhibiting the Wnt/β ...

Salinomycin poisoning in horses

Veterinary Record, 1987
Six cases of accidental salinomycin poisoning in horses are described. The horses were fed a contaminated ration and presented clinical signs which were extremely varied in nature and severity. However, the range of signs, including anorexia, colic, weakness and ataxia bore similarities to those described in horses poisoned with the related ionophore ...
