Multistress effects lead to unpredicted consequences in aquatic ecotoxicology and are extremely concerning. The goal of this study was to trace how specific effects of the antibiotic salinomycin (Sal) and microplastics (MP) on the bivalve molluscs are ...

Stereoselective Synthesis of the Western Hemisphere of Salinomycin
Organic Letters, 2006[structure: see text]. A convergent and module-based strategy for the asymmetric synthesis of the western hemisphere (C1-C17 fragment) of salinomycin has been devised. This new synthetic approach relies on highly stereoselective C-glycosidation and aldol processes.

CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY OF SALINOMYCIN AND ITS ANALOGUES
Targets in Heterocyclic Systems, 2015Natural carboxylic polyether ionophores such as salinomycin, monensin, and lasalocid have been objects of great interest because of their antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, and antiviral activities. Recently, it has been found that polyether ionophores might be also important chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of cancer.

Chemical biology of salinomycin
Tetrahedron, 2018Abstract Cancer stem cells (CSC) have been shown to be refractory to conventional therapeutic agents, can promote metastasis, and have been linked to cancer relapse. The natural product Salinomycin has been identified by means of high throughput phenotypic screening as a selective killer of CSC in vitro and in vivo. In this article we comprehensively

Salinomycin Toxicosis in Male Breeder Turkeys
Avian Diseases, 1995A sudden outbreak of mortality in one house of 600 48-week-old male breeder turkeys on a five-house turkey breeder farm was suspected to be feed-related. The turkeys gasped and became recumbent; 21.7% of affected turkeys died. No significant gross lesions were found at necropsy.

Antiproliferative activity of salinomycin and its derivatives
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2012Antiproliferative activity of seven amides and one benzotriazole ester derivative of salinomycin, a polyether ionophore antibiotic, with recently reported antibacterial activity, are herein described. Salinomycin and the majority of derivatives exhibit potent antiproliferative activity against the drug-resistant cancer cell lines.
