Mechanisms and Pathological Significance of Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation in Bacteria

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 18, 30 September 2025.
LLPS in bacterial infections. In biological systems, the molecular mechanisms underlying LLPS are primarily driven by multivalent protein–protein interactions, protein‐nucleic acid interactions, and intramolecular interactions mediated by IDR. Through LLPS, proteins form condensates that function as ‘microfactories,’ playing crucial roles in regulating

Application of ribotyping and IS200 fingerprinting to distinguish the five Salmonella serotype O6,7:c:1,5 groups: Choleraesuis sensu stricto, Choleraesuis var. Kunzendorf, Choleraesuis var. Decatur, Paratyphi C, and Typhisuis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Sixty-seven strains of the five described Salmonella serotypes having antigens 6,7:c: 1,5, that is S. enterica serotype Choleraesuis sensu stricto, Choleraesuis var. Kunzendorf, Choleraesuis var.

Genomic comparison of diverse Salmonella serovars isolated from swine. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Food animals act as a reservoir for many foodborne pathogens. Salmonella enterica is one of the leading pathogens that cause food borne illness in a broad host range including animals and humans.

Immunological detection of Salmonella paratyphi A in raw prawns [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1994
A slot blot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, using monoclonal antibodies specific only for Salmonella paratyphi A, to detect S. paratyphi A contamination in raw prawns has been established. When artificially contaminated prawn samples were tested. S. paratyphi A contamination could be identified correctly within 20 h.

Twinkle Light‐Inspired Aggregation‐Induced Emission “Lighting‐Up” Bacteriophages to Enhance Immunoassays via Spontaneous Amino‐Yne Click Reaction

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Herein, we present a twinkle‐light‐inspired “lighting‐up” bifunctional bacteriophage for fluorescence immunoassays via a spontaneous amino‐yne click reaction, and demonstrate its versatile potential for the highly sensitive detection of various targets, ranging from small molecules to pathogenic microorganisms, in complex samples.

Salmonella enterica Serovars Typhi and Paratyphi A are avirulent in newborn and infant mice even when expressing virulence plasmid genes of Salmonella Typhimurium

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries, 2010
Background: Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi and Paratyphi A are human host-restricted pathogens. Therefore, there is no small susceptible animal host that can be used to assess the virulence and safety of vaccine strains derived from these Salmonella

Healthcare use for diarrhoea and dysentery in actual and hypothetical cases, Nha Trang, Viet Nam. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
To better understand healthcare use for diarrhoea and dysentery in Nha Trang, Viet Nam, qualitative interviews with community residents and dysentery case studies were conducted. Findings were supplemented by a quantitative survey which asked respondents

Inhibitory Activity of Cinnamomum cassia Essential Oil on Yersinia enterocolitica. A Challenge Test on Sous‐Vide Cooked Deer Meat

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 868-891, September 2025.
Cinnamomum Cassia essential oil on Deer Meat after inoculation with Yersinia Enterocolitica. ABSTRACT This study assessed the effectiveness of minimal processing techniques on red deer meat, specifically examining the preservation potential of vacuum‐sealed samples combined with Cinnamomum cassia essential oil (CCEO) to inhibit contamination by ...

What's in a Name? Species-Wide Whole-Genome Sequencing Resolves Invasive and Noninvasive Lineages of Salmonella enterica Serotype Paratyphi B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
For 100 years, it has been obvious that Salmonella enterica strains sharing the serotype with the formula 1,4,[ 5], 12: b:1,2-now known as ParatyphiB-can cause diseases ranging from serious systemic infections to self-limiting gastroenteritis.
