Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Antioxidant effect of phycocianin on dried-salted fish

ABSTRACT Sutures are crucial for tissue approximation and wound healing. Besides their strength limits requirement, they often fail to effectively address complications like infection and pain. Inspired by natural silk's “core‐sheath” structure, our suture features a wet‐spun core of n zinc‐fortified silk fibroin fibers (RSF‐Zn2+) after drawing with ...

Study of microflora in Malaysian dried fishes and their decontamination by gamma-irradiation. [PDF]
The distribution of microorganisms in 10 samples of salted dried fish and the effects of irradiation of them were studied. The total aerobic bacteria in commercial dried fish were determined to be from 2 x 104 to 3 x 106 per gram.

Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.

A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

Post-harvest processing practices of small-scale fisherfolk from Rosario, Cavite, Philippines: Physicochemical and microbiological properties of tuyo [PDF]
Dried, salted fish (Sardinella spp.), locally known as tuyo, is a Filipino food staple. Pandawan fisherfolk consider tuyo processing as their main source of livelihood. This study determined the relation of post-harvest practices with the physicochemical
