Floristic Diversity of Riparian and Associated Vegetation Along the Amnay River (The Philippines). [PDF]
ABSTRACT Riparian vegetation plays a critical role in maintaining ecological integrity along river corridors, yet it is highly sensitive to changes in hydrological and geomorphic conditions, particularly in sediment‐influenced tropical river systems.

The Complete Chloroplast Genome of Tornillo (<i>Cedrelinga cateniformis</i> Ducke 1922, Fabaceae). [PDF]
Tornillo (Cedrelinga cateniformis) is a tropical tree from the Fabaceae family, valued as a substitute for overexploited timber species. This study presents the first complete chloroplast genome sequencing of Tornillo, revealing a 176,700 bp structure with 138 genes and confirming its phylogenetic placement within the Ingeae tribe.

Tiny Patch, Big Value: A Small Dry Forest Patch Supports Wildlife Conservation in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. [PDF]
This study highlights the biodiversity value of the Murren Reserve, a small tropical dry forest patch in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Using camera traps and opportunistic observations, researchers documented 32 wildlife species, including federally endangered species like the ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) and puma (Puma concolor), as well as 73 plant species.

Plants Potential of Green and Open Space Planning (RTH) to Mitigate CO2 Gas Emission in Ambon
The urbanization rate may give an adverse effect on a city. For example, it accrues the number of urban dwellers and induces the exploitation of land resources with a quick conversion rate, which leads to the degradation of the quality of the environment.

Digestibility, rumen kinetics, and blood metabolites in lambs fed Samanea saman and Cordia dentata
Colombian sheep production is carried out in extensive pastures with a low percentage of protein and high fiber levels that lead to low weight gains. The aim of this study was to evaluate intake, digestibility, rumen kinetics, and blood metabolites in ...

Demystifying the Venus flytrap action potential
Summary All plants are electrically excitable, but only few are known to fire a well‐defined, all‐or‐nothing action potential (AP). The Venus flytrap Dionaea muscipula displays APs with an extraordinarily high firing frequency and speed, enabling the capture organ of this carnivorous plant to catch small animals as fast as flies.

Pest categorisation of Icerya aegyptiaca
Abstract The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Icerya aegyptiaca (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Monophlebidae), the Egyptian fluted scale, for the EU. This insect is established in several countries in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Within the EU, the pest has not been reported.

Potassium Flux and Leaf Movement in Samanea saman [PDF]
Samanea leaflets usually open in white light and fold together when darkened, but also open and dose with a circadian rhythm during prolonged darkness. Leaflet movement results from differential changes in the turgor and shape of motor cells on opposite sides of the pulvinus; extensor cells expand during opening and shrink during closure, while flexor ...
