Minimality of aperiodic sampled data systems
2017 American Control Conference (ACC), 2017This article studies the relation between the minimality properties of two different types of models encountered in the context of linear time-invariant (LTI) sampled-data systems with aperiodic sampling. More precisely, we consider the problem of determining the relationship between the minimality of a continuous-time LTI state-space (SS ...

A Unified Method for the Reconstruction of Sampled Data
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1973Many digital systems have need for continuous-type output for oscilloscope display, process control, or hybrid computation. This paper presents a generalization and unification of the theory of extrapolation and reconstruction of sampled data. This generalization allows implementation of a recursive algorithm or digital filter in conjunction with the ...

Hankel norm of sampled-data systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1995Summary: We generalize the concept of Hankel norm for purely continuous-time systems to sampled-data systems. The Hankel norm of a sampled-data system is defined by taking into account the intersample behaviors. The formula of the Hankel norm of a sampled-data system is given by a hybrid state-space model approach. We show that the Hankel norm is equal

The notion of zeros of sampled-data systems is introduced in the lifting framework so that from the continuous-time viewpoint the zeros have signal transmission blocking properties. A characterization of all such zeros is given in terms of the eigenvalues of a bounded operator on the state space.

Advances in computer-based control systems require to consider digital controllers on the base of multirate and unconventional sampling schemes. The purpose of this paper is to extend the concepts of system passivity which are well known ideas in the context of continuous and discrete time systems to the case of sampled-data systems.

Interpolation and extrapolation of sampled data
IRE Transactions on Information Theory, 1956This paper is essentially an extension of the optimum filtering theory of Zadeh and Ragazzini to the case where the time function to be operated upon is available only at a sequence of sample instants. As in the latter paper the signal is taken to consist of two parts, one being a polynomial p(t) with unknown coefficients and known maximum degree n ...

Abstract : A general objective of the project was to develop and assess the impact of finite algebraic methods on the signal and data processing functions encountered in command, control, and communications systems. The work in FY81 focused on two areas: development and evaluation of a simple technique for secure transmission of voice-band signals over

The introduction to discrete-time control given in Chapter 8 followed the traditional pattern of focusing entirely on the sampled output response. Clearly this would be quite adequate if one could be certain that the response between samples would not deviate too dramatically from the response as seen at the sample points. However, there is no a-priori
