Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The mutual information estimation in the sampling with replacement [PDF]
An unbiased estimator is constructed for the mutual information of order 2 and its precision is studied. The motivation for choosing mutual information of order 2 rather than Shannon's mutual information, or mutual information of any other order, is that only in this case an unbiased estimation can be immediately derived for the corresponding ...

The distribution of order statistics under sampling without replacement
This paper examines the distribution of order statistics taken from simple-random-sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) from a finite population with values 1,...,N.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A family of almost unbiased estimators for negatively correlated variables using Jackknife technique
Using Jackknife technique a family of almost unbiased estimators for Y, the population mean of the study variable Y, is suggested and its properties analysed under simple random sampling and without replacement (SRSWOR) scheme. An empirical investigation

Incremental Sampling Without Replacement for Sequence Models
Sampling is a fundamental technique, and sampling without replacement is often desirable when duplicate samples are not beneficial. Within machine learning, sampling is useful for generating diverse outputs from a trained model. We present an elegant procedure for sampling without replacement from a broad class of randomized programs, including ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An Unbiased Estimator of the Variance of Simple Random Sampling Using Mixed Random-Systematic Sampling [PDF]
Systematic sampling is a commonly used technique due to its simplicity and ease of implementation. The drawback of this simplicity is that it is not possible to estimate the design variance without bias. There are several ways to circumvent this problem.

Algorithm Providing Ordered Integer Sequences for Sampling with Replacement Confidence Intervals
Sampling with replacement occurs when drawing without removing individuals from finite populations. It is a common distribution technique used in physics, biology, and medicine. It is used in state analysis of qubits, the physics of particle interactions,
