Uranium Isotopes in Groundwater: Their Use in Prospecting for Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposits
Journal of Geochemical Exploration, 1977ABSTRACT Cowart, J.B. and Osmond, J.K., 1977. Uranium isotopes in groundwater: their use in prospecting for sandstone-type uranium deposits. J. Geochem. Explor., 8: 365–379. The relative abundances of dissolved 238U and its daughter 234U appear to be greatly affected as the uranium is transported downdip in sandstone aquifers. In an actively forming

Methodology and exploration for sandstone-type uranium deposits
Mineralium Deposita, 1979Mobility of uranium with ground water in near surface earth conditions and its association with sandstone formations of continental depositional environments require an increase in the understanding and application of depositional characteristics in exploration.

Fission-track dating of sandstone-type uranium deposits
Geology, 1982A procedure has been developed to make use of quartz grains in sandstone-type uranium deposits as external detectors of spontaneous fission events in interstitial uranium. Fission-tracks must be counted on a large number of grain surfaces because uranium distribution is not uniform on a grain-to-grain scale.

Remote sensing technique and prognosis of sandstone type uranium deposit
2001 International Conferences on Info-Tech and Info-Net. Proceedings (Cat. No.01EX479), 2002This paper is firstly aimed at discussing how to utilize different types of remote sensing data and image enhancement, information extraction and multi-source data (TM, JERS-SAR, and geophysical, geochemical data) fusion processing to acquire information related to uranium mineralization.

Abstract The factors influencing uranium recovery in water-rock systems during acid in-situ leaching (ISL) were studied at the Kujieertai uranium deposit in Xinjiang. Using an ISL unit, a field leach trial (FLT) had been carried out to test the sequential effects of a leaching solution without oxidant (H2SO4 solution 4–8 g/L) and a leaching solution ...

Geochemical characteristics of Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit, Ordos Basin
Chinese Journal of Geochemistry, 2007Generally, sandstone-type uranium deposits can be divided into three zones according to their redox conditions: oxidized zone, ore zone and reduced zone. The Dongsheng uranium deposit belongs to this type. In order to study its geochemical characteristics, 11 samples were taken from the three zones of the Dongsheng uranium deposit. Five samples of them

Uranium speciation and in situ leaching of a sandstone-type deposit from China
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2016In this paper, uranium ore samples collected from different hole depth and different numbered hole. The effects of uranium speciation to in situ leaching of uranium were analyzed by sequential chemical extraction and sulfuric acid leaching tests. These results imply that the distribution characteristics of uranium speciation are significantly different

Origin of gray-green sandstone in ore bed of sandstone type uranium deposit in north Ordos Basin
Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 2007Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit is located in the northern part of Ordos Basin, occurring in the transitional zones between gray-green and gray sandstones of Jurassic Zhiluo Formation. Sandstones in oxidized zone of the ore bed look gray-green, being of unique signature and different from one of ordinary inter-layered oxidation zone of ...

Paleochannel Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposits of Vitim Ore Region
2021In this chapter present results obtained from last-years studies uranium ores from seven paleochannel-type deposits of Khiagda Ore Field at Vitim uranium ore region, Russia. All deposits belong to sandstone economic type, basal channel subtype; in Russian it commonly called as paleovalley, paleo-riverbed or paleo-streambed.
