Distribution‐Based Model Evaluation and Diagnostics: Elicitability, Propriety, and Scoring Rules for Hydrograph Functionals

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 60, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract Distribution forecasts P over future quantities or events are routinely made in hydrology but usually traded for a (likelihood‐weighted) mean or median prediction to accommodate error measures or scoring functions such as the mean absolute error or mean squared error. Case in point is the so‐called KG efficiency (KGE) of Gupta et al.

Non‐apoptotic regulated cell death mediates reprogramming of the tumour immune microenvironment by macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 8, April 2024.
Abstract Tumour immune microenvironment (TIME) plays an indispensable role in tumour progression, and tumour‐associated macrophages (TAMs) are the most abundant immune cells in TIME. Non‐apoptotic regulated cell death (RCD) can avoid the influence of tumour apoptosis resistance on anti‐tumour immune response.

Immunoglobulin G genetic variation can confound assessment of antibody levels via altered binding to detection reagents

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 13, Issue 3, 2024.
Immunoglobulins comprise two fragment antigen‐binding (Fab) regions and a fragment crystallisable (Fc) region connected by a flexible hinge. Common IgG1 allotypes and corresponding polymorphisms are depicted. Here we show that some commercially available anti‐IgG1 detectors bind to IgG1 allotypes differently.
