Endometrial Stromal Nodule: A Rarity and a Pathological Challenge

open access: yesCase Reports in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2015
Endometrial stromal tumors are rare, and endometrial stromal nodule is the least common. In the region of Middle Jutland, Denmark, only two cases are reported since 1995.

Enhanced expression of the stemness-related factors OCT4, SOX15 and TWIST1 in ectopic endometrium of endometriosis patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background Current evidence suggests that endometrial-derived stem cells, spilled in the peritoneal cavity via retrograde menstruation, are key players in the establishment of endometriotic lesions. The aim of this study was to determine the presence and

Chinese pan‐cancer patient genomic characteristics: A comprehensive analysis based on the National Cancer Center–Clinical Diagnostics Knowledgebase real‐world clinical sequencing cohort

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
We assembled National Cancer Center–Clinical Diagnostics Knowledgebase, a clinical genomic knowledgebase of 6935 tumors with matched normal samples, revealing key somatic alterations and actionable variants (70.2% of the cohort). Enrichment of certain different gene mutations was observed between Chinese and American populations, along with a strong ...

A rare case report of high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma in a seemingly healthy uterus of a young patient – Optimally managed by minimally access surgery

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, 2019
Endometrial stromal sarcomas (ESSs) are a rare entity, constituting 10% of all uterine sarcomas and 0.2% of all uterine malignancies. We report a very rare case of high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma in a 34-year-old female with fibroids uterus ...

Disseminated Endometriosis and Low-Grade Endometrioid Stromal Sarcoma in a Patient with a History of Uterine Morcellation for Adenomyosis

open access: yesCase Reports in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2020
Morcellation of benign uterine tumors allows for removal of the tumors via minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. However, in rare cases, morcellation has been associated with upstaging of unexpected malignancies.

The Role of SAMHD1 in Viral Resistance and Transduction Efficiency Challenges in Pediatric Hematological Malignancies: Mechanistic Insights and Clinical Perspectives

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
SAMHD1 regulates intracellular dNTP pools, influencing lentiviral transduction, gene therapy efficiency, and disease progression in pediatric hematological malignancies. Integrated bioinformatics and targeted strategies, including CRISPR and pharmacological inhibition, highlight its therapeutic potential.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling in hereditary and neoplastic disease: biologic and clinical implications. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) are transmembrane growth factor receptors with wide tissue distribution. FGF/FGFR signaling is involved in neoplastic behavior and also development, differentiation, growth, and survival.

Immunohistochemistry of endometrial stromal sarcoma

open access: yesHuman Pathology, 1991
Twenty-three cases (12 low grade, 11 high grade) of endometrial stromal sarcoma were studied with monoclonal antibodies to vimentin, keratin, desmin, muscle actin, epithelial membrane antigen, and collagen type IV, using the avidin-biotin immunoperoxidase method. Tumors were highly variable in the expression of these antigens.
