Reproductive Biology of Round Sardinella (Sardinella Aurita) (Valenciennes, 1847) in Senegalese Coastal Waters

open access: yesJournal of Biology and Life Science, 2018
In this study, a total of 1068 specimens Sardinella aurita of which 553 females and 515 males were examined. The objectif of this study was to determine the reproductive parameters of Sardinella aurita. The sex ratio was significantly in favor of females (55%). Reproduction Traits and Strategies of Two Sardinella Species off the Southwest Coast of Africa

open access: yesFishes
Small pelagic fishes such as Sardinella aurita (Valenciennes, 1847) and Sardinella maderensis (R. T. Lowe, 1838) are key intermediate-level components of the marine food web of the southwestern African coast.

Larval Transport Pathways Reveal Critical Habitat and Benefits of a Marine Protected Area to Fisheries

open access: yesFisheries Oceanography, Volume 35, Issue 2, Page 285-296, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Quantifying where marine organisms are born and subsequently disperse to is essential for fisheries management. Here, we conducted Lagrangian particle tracking of viviparous rockfish (Sebastes spp.) collected in the Southern California Bight over the course of 16 years.
