Cooling curves and initial models for low-mass white dwarfs (<0.25 Msun) with helium core

open access: yes, 2000
We present a detailed calculation of the evolution of low-mass ($< 0.25~M_\odot $) helium white dwarfs. These white dwarfs (the optical companions to binary millisecond pulsars) are formed via long-term, low-mass binary evolution.

Engineering Lipid Nanoparticles for Precision RNA Delivery: Design Principles, Targeting Strategies, and Clinical Prospects

open access: yesCancer Nexus, Volume 2, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) represent the most clinically advanced platform for RNA delivery and have enabled major breakthroughs in vaccines and gene therapies. However, their broader application is still limited by inefficient extrahepatic delivery, immunogenicity, and insufficient control over tissue‐ and cell‐specific targeting. This review

A Review of Vagus Nerve Stimulation for Disease: Comprehensive Theory and Evidence for Mechanisms of Action

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) effects span central and peripheral organ systems through diverse mechanistic pathways. This comprehensive review provides a unified synthesis of these mechanisms across neurological, cardiovascular, immunological, metabolic, and gastrointestinal domains, filling a critical gap and serving as a foundational resource for ...

Phylogeny, species delimitation and machine learning bridge the gap between DNA sequences and morphology in the lichen genus Arctomia (Arctomiaceae, Ascomycota)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract This study investigates species boundaries in the lichen genus Arctomia (Arctomiaceae, Ascomycota) using an integrative approach combining molecular phylogenetics, full Bayesian population delimitation, heuristic and model‐based species delimitation, and supervised machine learning applied to morphological data.

Sarna Noruega.

A Lipid Nanoparticle-Formulated Self-Amplifying RNA Rift Valley Fever Vaccine Induces a Robust Humoral Immune Response in Mice

open access: yesVaccines
Rift Valley fever (RVF) is a mosquito-borne viral zoonosis that causes high fetal and neonatal mortality rates in ruminants and sometimes severe to fatal complications like encephalitis and hemorrhagic fever in humans.

Research Advances of saRNA in Human Malignant Tumors

open access: yesZhongliu Fangzhi Yanjiu, 2018
In the regulation of gene expression, a series of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) play a wide role. RNA activation (RNAa) is a newly discovered model for RNA-regulated gene expression.

Formation of millisecond pulsars. I. Evolution of low-mass X-ray binaries with P > 2 days [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We have performed detailed numerical calculations of the non-conservative evolution of close binary systems with low-mass (1.0-2.0 M_sun) donor stars and a 1.3 M_sun accreting neutron star.
