Modeling Super-spreading Events for Infectious Diseases: Case Study SARS
Super-spreading events for infectious diseases occur when some infected individuals infect more than the average number of secondary cases. Several super-spreading individuals have been identified for the 2003 outbreak of severe acute respiratory ...

Metal–Organic Framework‐Based Antimicrobial Touch Surfaces to Prevent Cross‐Contamination
A MOF‐based antimicrobial door handle cover is developed. It completely inhibits the cross‐contamination of Gram‐positive bacterial species (Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis), Gram‐negative bacterial species (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii), and fungi (Candida albicans). Abstract Infection diseases

Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes with Quantum Wires and Nanorods
This review focuses on low‐dimensional perovskite materials and discusses their applications in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). Special attention is given to the introduction of perovskite quantum wires and nanorods, two unique types of one‐dimensional (1D) materials, and their interesting optoelectronic properties.

Enhancing SAR Object Detection with Self-Supervised Pre-training on Masked Auto-Encoders [PDF]
Supervised fine-tuning methods (SFT) perform great efficiency on artificial intelligence interpretation in SAR images, leveraging the powerful representation knowledge from pre-training models. Due to the lack of domain-specific pre-trained backbones in SAR images, the traditional strategies are loading the foundation pre-train models of natural scenes
