Satellite SAR Geocoding For Earth Mapping
SPIE Proceedings, 1989The forthcoming scenario of remote sensing satellites is characterised by a growing utilization of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors. Among these sensors, the NASA SIR-C (in combination with German/Italian X-SAR), the Canadian Radarsat, the Japanese JERS-1 and the European ERS-1 will produce high resolution, day and night, cloud penetrating images

Evolution of Ship Detectors for Satellite SAR Imagery
1999A two-stage evolution scheme is proposed to obtain an object-detector for an image analysis task, and is applied to the problem of ship detection by inspection of the SAR images taken by satellites. The scheme: (1) affords practical evolution times, (2) is structured to discover fast automatic detectors, (3) can produce small detectors that shed light ...

A cooperation earth observation model of SAR satellite and optical remote sensing satellite
2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014A cooperation earth observation model constituted by two SAR satellites and one optical remote sensing satellite is proposed. In this model, the optical remote sensing satellite orbit plane locates in the middle of two SAR satellites, and two SAR satellites observe the same ground area from two sides of the optical satellite respectively.

Multi-modal Registration of SAR and Optical Satellite Images
2009 Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications, 2009Frequently the need arises to combine remotely sensed data taken from different sensors for improved interpretation of an imaged area. However, before this multi-sensor data fusion can be performed the image data must first be registered geometrically.

2001
We created a prototype for a flexible last multithreaded high precision PC satellite SAR processor, which can operate on a network of low cost PC platforms. The network approach provides a scalable solution to divide the workload over multiple computers, thereby reducing the computation time.

On Flexible Co-registration of Optical and SAR Satellite Images
2020We consider the problem of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and optical satellite images co-registration in its special statement. Because of the distinct natures of SAR and optical images, there exist huge radiometric and geometric differences between such images. Their structure, intensity of pixels, and texture are drastically different.

Eddies in the Red Sea as seen by Satellite SAR Imagery
2014We present the results of our observations of mesoscale and sub-mesoscale eddies in the Red Sea based on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. The dataset used includes about 500 Envisat Advanced SAR (ASAR) images obtained in 2006–2011 over the Red Sea.
