On Flexible Co-registration of Optical and SAR Satellite Images
2020We consider the problem of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and optical satellite images co-registration in its special statement. Because of the distinct natures of SAR and optical images, there exist huge radiometric and geometric differences between such images. Their structure, intensity of pixels, and texture are drastically different.

Multi-modal Registration of SAR and Optical Satellite Images
2009 Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications, 2009Frequently the need arises to combine remotely sensed data taken from different sensors for improved interpretation of an imaged area. However, before this multi-sensor data fusion can be performed the image data must first be registered geometrically.

Coastal Monitoring by Satellite-Based SAR
2011The ability of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) for monitoring surface signatures of swells, wind fronts, bottom features, oil slicks, and eddies has been amply demonstrated. The combined use of IR (AVHRR), ocean color (SeaWiFS, MODIS), and SAR (ERS-1/2, ENVISAT, RADARSAT) data can provide frequent high resolution coverage of the coastal area for the ...
