Development of an LC-MS/MS method for the analysis of triacylglycerols from meat and application in the discrimination of cooked meat products [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A single stage reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP HPLC) separation of animal fat triacylglycerols (TAGs) has been developed for coupling with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization tandem mass spectrometry using an ion trap mass ...

Pharmacological potential of endocannabinoid and endocannabinoid-like compounds in protecting intestinal structure and metabolism under high-fat conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
The intestine plays a crucial role in nutrient absorption, digestion, and regulation of metabolic processes. Intestinal structure and functions are influenced by several factors, with dietary composition being one of the most significant.

Leonurine Ameliorates Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiotoxicity via STING/NF‐κB/NLRP3 Inflammasome Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy (DIC) remains a dose‐limiting clinical challenge. This study reveals that cardiac vascular endothelial cells (CVECs) act as initial sensors of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity: circulating doxorubicin activates the cGAS‑STING pathway in CVECs, triggering NLRP3 inflammasome‑mediated pyroptosis and release of ...

PDIA6–SCD1 Axis Rewires Lipid Metabolism to Drive Gastric Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein disulfide isomerase A6 (PDIA6) is identified as an oncogenic driver in gastric cancer. PDIA6 directly binds and stabilizes SCD1 by limiting its ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation, thereby sustaining monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA)‐enriched lipid homeostasis and lipid metabolic reprogramming.

Solid-Liquid Equilibria Modelling for triacylglycerols exhibiting multiple solid phases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Important end-use properties of vegetable oils based edible products are strong related to the equilibrium between a solid crystalline network and a liquid phase.

Stem Cell Differentiation Disperses Transcriptional Clusters via a Conserved Surface‐Condensate Trajectory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation follows a conserved surface condensate trajectory: H3K27ac super enhancers nucleate large RNA polymerase II clusters that grow and unfold before transcriptional activity disperses them. This work reveals how biophysical forces at enhancer surfaces dynamically build and dismantle stem cell transcription hubs, reshaping cell ...

Effect of saturated and unsaturated fats on hepatic synthesis and biliary excretion of cholesterol by the rat

open access: yes, 1959
In an attempt to elucidate the mechanisms by which saturated and unsaturated fats influence cholesterol metabolism, cholesterol synthesis in rat liver slices and the excretion of cholesterol end products into the bile of rats was studied during ...
