Optimizing dissolved air flotation design and saturation

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2001
Dissolved air flotation (DAF) of iron hydroxide precipitates at working pressures lower than 3 atm, using modified flotation units to improve the collection of fragile coagula, was studied. Conventional DAF flotation was studied as a function of saturation pressure in the absence and presence of surfactants in the saturator.

Maximin optimal designs for a compartmental model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
For an important example from the class of compartmental models we determine optimal designs, which are robust against misspecifications of the unknown model parameters.

Construction D-optimal designs of experiments for linear multiple regression with heteroscedastic observations

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: Математика, информатика, 2019
In article the problem of construction exact D-optimal designs of experiments for linear multiple regression in a case when variance of errors of observations depend on a point in which is made is investigated.

Optimizing Randomized and Deterministic Saturation Designs under Interference

open access: yes, 2022
Randomized saturation designs are a family of designs which assign a possibly different treatment proportion to each cluster of a population at random. As a result, they generalize the well-known (stratified) completely randomized designs and the cluster-based randomized designs, which are included as special cases.

Circular Coil for EV Wireless Charging Design and Optimization Considering Ferrite Saturation [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE 5th International forum on Research and Technology for Society and Industry (RTSI), 2019
In this paper a circular coil for electric vehicle (EV) static wireless charging is considered. In particular, the coil geometry has been optimized in order to maximize coupling coefficient, reduce losses and thus maximizing transmission efficiency. The procedure that has been used to optimize the ferrite thicknesses to prevent the material saturation ...

A simple method for designing infiltration low impact development techniques considering effects of urbanization and climate change [PDF]

open access: yesRBRH
Infiltration-based low-impact development (LID) techniques are widely used to reduce peak runoff and enhance groundwater recharge in urban catchments.

Construction of D-optimal saturated designs for main effects and F1-second-order interactions in the presence of a free factor

open access: yesStatistical Theory and Related Fields
The allocation of resources in a [Formula: see text]-factorial experiment is crucial when the experimental resources are limited. In practice, when resources are limited, it is common for investigators to use all the information at their disposal to ...

New families of Q_B-optimal saturated two-level main effects screening designs [PDF]

open access: yesStatistica Sinica, 2016
In this paper, we study saturated two-level main effects designs which are commonly used for screening experiments. The QB criterion, which incorporates experimenters' prior beliefs about the probability of factors being active is used to compare designs.

Optimal designs for indirect regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In many real life applications, it is impossible to observe the feature of interest directly. For example, scientists in Materials Science may be interested in detecting cracks inside objects, not visible from the outside. Similarly, non-invasive medical
