Savonius water current meter

Since the invention of the Savonius Rotor, people have been using rapidly an analog instrument to measure the ocean water current. The limited accuracy of an analog instrument result in a new digital instrument. This project was designing a digital instrument for Ocean Engineering Department.

Abstract This paper examines the performance characteristics of the Savonius windmill rotor under field conditions. Test data were collected on the speed, torque and power of the rotor at a large number of wind speeds for each of seven values of the rotor overlap ratio.
