CFD computation of the Savonius rotor
In this paper, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of a two-dimensional two- -bucket Savonius rotor, using ANSYS Fluent solver, is presented. Computational methods of fluid dynamics are used to estimate the aerodynamic forces acting on the rotor, the torque and the power extracted by the Savonius rotor.

Improvement of Aerodynamic Performance of Savonius Wind Rotor Using Straight-Arc Curtain
A straight and an arc-shaped curtain are combined to enhance the aerodynamic performance of the Savonius wind rotor. The straight-arc curtain is placed in front of the Savonius wind rotor to reduce the negative moment on the convex blade and increase the

Dependence of Power Characteristics on Savonius Rotor Segmentation
Savonius rotors are large and heavy because they use drag force for propulsion. This leads to a larger investment in comparison to horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) rotors using lift forces.

CFD investigation on wind power harvesting from small-scale wind turbines for powering residential buildings in New Zealand. [PDF]
ABSTRACT As an alternative solution, wind power could be harnessed by designing and implementing small‐scale wind turbines for distributed power generation. In this work, 3‐dimensional time‐domain numerical simulations, based on the Reynolds‐Average Navier‐Strokes (RANS) model, are conducted for two categories of small‐scale wind turbines, i.e.
