Photoconductivity in Photorefractive SBN

Topical Meeting on Photorefractive Materials, Effects, and Devices, 1987
Czochralski grown SBN:Fe and SBN:Ce crystals have been studied by photoconductivity and temperature dependent conductivity in order to understand the nature of trapping centers in these materials.

Ferroelectric SBN thin films grown by an SBN/Bi2O3 PLD sequential process

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2001
Abstract Ferroelectric SrBi 2 Nb 2 O 9 (SBN) thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on Pt/Ti/SiO 2 /Si(100) using a sequential deposition process from two SBN and Bi 2 O 3 targets. This route allows for bismuth enrichment of the film composition in order to improve the ferroelectric characteristics. Structural and microstructural

Photorefractive dark conductivity in SBN:60:Cr and SBN:60:Ce,Ca

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1988
Previous experiments on photorefractive two-wave mixing and phase conjugation in SBN:60:Ce, Ca and SBN:60:Cr have shown that the two-beam coupling constant Γ increased as the crystals were cooled below room temperature despite the decreasing electrooptic coefficient when the crystal temperature was lowered away from the ferroelectric phase transition ...

SBN photonic devices

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
Significance and some potential applications of Strontium Barium Niobate Sr x Ba 1-x Nb 2 O 6 (SBN) crystals in the field of photonics are succinctly discussed. The very large electrooptic coefficients of SBN crystals reported thus far and in this study have been empowering its role as one of the most promising nominees amid ferroelectric materials ...

Copper-modified sbn single crystals

Ferroelectrics, 1989
Abstract The preparation procedure and the properties of copper-modified SBN single crystals are reported. Compared with the plain SBN crystals, copper-modified crystals have stable hysteresis loops, lower ageing rate of piezoelectric constant, higher pyroelectric coefficient and a more diffuse phase transition.

Phase conjugation in SBN fibers

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1989
Recently we developed photorefractive fibers of SBN (Ref. 1) for use in optical data storage and processing applications. It was found that the angular sensitivity of multiple holograms stored in the fiber is four to five times higher than in bulk SBN of the same thickness because of waveguiding.

Tb-doped SBN single crystals

Ferroelectrics, 1993
Abstract Strontium barium niobate (SBN) single crystals doped with terbium (Tb) are prepared and their dielectric, ferroelectric, pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties are examined. It is shown that Tb-doping can noticeably improve the stability, increase the pyroelectric coefficient and piezoelectric constant to some extent, decrease the ...

Rogue Waves in Photorefractive SBN Crystals

Latin America Optics and Photonics Conference, 2018
We report on the excitation of large-amplitude waves, with very low probability, in photorefractive SBN crystals. We excite the system with a narrow gaussian beam and observe different dynamical regimes tailored by the crystal nonlinearity.

SBN tra presente e futuro

Biblioteche oggi, 2015
The director of ICCU (Central Institute for the Union Catalogue of Italian Libraries and Bibliographic Information) describes the tasks of this institute in managing and developing SBN (National Library Service), with particular attention to: governance, technologies, international standards and cooperation.

Enhanced photorefractive effect in SBN:60:Cr and SBN.60:Rh with external dc fields

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1989
A major thrust of photorefractive materials research has been to increase the coupling constant Γ and speed up response time. Previous two-beam coupling experiments using SBN:60 have shown that the space charge field Esc, and therefore the coupling constant, can be increased to some degree by optimizing the characteristic fields En and Ed.1,2 However ...
