The study shows that noncardiac surgical inflammation rapidly disrupts HDL function and cholesterol efflux in mice and human patients. Impaired reverse cholesterol transport after surgery drives rapid lipid accumulation, NETosis, and apoptosis within atherosclerotic plaques.

How to select the most relevant 3D roughness parameters of a surface [PDF]
In order to conduct a comprehensive roughness analysis, around sixty 3D roughness parameters are created to describe most of the surface morphology with regard to specific functions, properties or applications.

DCAF13 Safeguards Hematopoietic Stem Cells via RRS1‐Regulated Ribosome Biogenesis
This study establishes DCAF13 as an essential regulator for hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) function. Its deletion in mice causes lethal pancytopenia and HSC depletion. Mechanistically, DCAF13 interacts with RRS1 and mediates its non‐degradative K27‐linked ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing RRS1 to maintain ribosome biogenesis and protein translation ...

Combining ability analysis for yield and its component traits in sesame (Sesamum indicum L)
Combining ability analysis was carried out in 8 x 8 half diallel mating system for ten quantitative characters in sesame (Sesamum indicum L). The present study revealed the importance of both additive as well as non-additive genetic components for ...

Distinct Immunomodulatory Strategies Guide Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cell‐Mediated Bone Regeneration
Bone regeneration by mesenchymal stem cells is strongly influenced by immune signals. This study shows that priming stem cells with regulatory immune cells or an inflammation‐resolving lipid molecule enhances bone formation through distinct immune pathways.

Combining ability analysis for yield and yield component traits in finger millet (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.) [PDF]
An experiment was conducted to estimate the gca and sca effects for yield and yield attributing traits in fingermillet. In the present investigation, the parents were mated in half diallel mating design.

The SCA-FEL can now provide FEL beams to users in a wavelength range extending from longer than 3.5 to shorter than 0.5 /spl mu/m. Harmonic generation can extend the short-wavelength range. As an example of the operational characteristics, during a 3 week run in May-June 1989, the SCA-FEL provided 18 days of FEL beam at 16-18 hours/day.

Bit-Vectorized GPU Implementation of a Stochastic Cellular Automaton Model for Surface Growth
Stochastic surface growth models aid in studying properties of universality classes like the Kardar--Paris--Zhang class. High precision results obtained from large scale computational studies can be transferred to many physical systems.
