Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Étayage en ligne et développement de la conscience métacognitive

open access: yesALSIC: Apprentissage des Langues et Systèmes d'Information et de Communication, 2019
The following article describes a case study based on a telecollaboration between two groups of learners studying French as a second/foreign language. Supported by Activity Theory and the notion of scaffolding, we seek to analyse whether collaborative ...

'Scaffolding': learning in the classroom

open access: yes, 1992
Recent interest in talk and learning in the classroom has encouraged a new metaphorical use for the term 'scaffolding'. This term is increasingly used to describe certain kinds of support which learners receive in their interaction with parents, teachers

Scaffolding, organisational structure and interpersonal interaction in musical activities with older people [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The research reported here focuses on the organizational structure and facilitator strategies observed in musical activities with older people. The observations formed one part of the Music for Life Project, funded by the ESRC New Dynamics of Ageing ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Analysis of students' dual processes in solving number pattern questions and providing scaffolding

open access: yesJournal Focus Action of Research Mathematic
This research aims to describe students' dual-process in solving number pattern questions and scaffolding that support students' dual-process. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a case study type.

The legal and technical possibilities of using of scaffoldings as the ramp for disabled persons

open access: yesBudownictwo i Architektura, 2015
The paper is devoted to the problems of legal and technical making the ramp for disabled persons with scaffolds. Scaffolding system components allow you to assemble a structure that serve as the ramp and fulfil the requirements of technical conditions ...

Coordinates, observables and symmetry in relativity

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the interplay and connections between symmetry properties of equations, the interpretation of coordinates, the construction of observables, and the existence of physical relativity principles in spacetime theories. Using the refined notion

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Fremde Sprachen lernen durch die Lektüre öffentlicher Räume

open access: yesJournal of Linguistics and Language Teaching, 2020
Öffentliche Räume bieten ein ideales Gerüst zur Unterstützung beim Erlernen fremder Sprachen (scaffolding), denn hier erscheinen kurze, oft standardisierte und in leichten Variationen häufig wiederholte Texte an Stellen, deren vorstrukturierter ...
