On stability and scalar curvature rigidity of quaternion-Kähler manifolds [PDF]
We show that every quaternion-K\"ahler manifold of negative scalar curvature is stable as an Einstein manifold and therefore scalar curvature rigid. In particular, this implies that every irreducible nonpositive Einstein manifold of special holonomy is stable. In contrast, we demonstrate that there exist quaternion-K\"ahler manifolds of positive scalar

HDAC4 regulates apoptosis in Acan‐CreERT2;HDAC4d/d mice with osteoarthritis by downregulating ATF4
Using the AcanCreERT2;HDAC4fl/fl genetic mouse model, we further investigated the role of histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) in chondrocyte apoptosis. We found that knocking down HDAC4 may be associated with chondrocyte apoptosis by upregulating the activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4)/CAAT/enhancer binding protein homologous (CHOP) signaling pathway ...

Hagedorn temperature from the thermal scalar in AdS and pp-wave backgrounds
We propose a thermal scalar equation of motion (EOM) that takes into account curvature corrections for backgrounds supported by Ramond-Ramond fluxes.

Holographic superconductors in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with backreactions
We construct the holographic superconductors away from the probe limit in the consistent D→4 Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We observe that, both for the ground state and excited states, the critical temperature first decreases then increases as the ...

Scalar curvature lower bounds on asymptotically flat manifolds [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the scalar curvature in the distributional sense of \cite{MR3366052} and the scalar curvature lower bound in the $\beta-$weak $(\beta\in(0, \frac{1}{2}))$ sense of \cite{MR4685089} on an asymptotically flat $n-$manifold with a $W^{1,p}(p>n)$ metric.

The existence results for solutions of indefinite scalar curvature problem [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the indefinite scalar curvature problem on $R^n$. We propose new conditions on the prescribing scalar curvature function such that the scalar curvature problem on $R^n$ (similarly, on $S^n$) has at least one solution. The key observation in our proof is that we use the bifurcation method to get a large solution and then after

Evaluation of synaptotagmin‐1 action models by all‐atom molecular dynamics simulations
We used molecular dynamics simulations to test models proposing that synaptotagmin‐1 facilitates membrane fusion by perturbing lipid bilayers, inducing membrane curvature and/or bridging membranes. The simulations show that synaptotagmin‐1 C2‐domains placed near the site of fusion hinder the ability of SNARE complexes to bring the membranes together ...

On Curvature Pinching for Submanifolds with Parallel Normalized Mean Curvature Vector
In this note, we investigate the pinching problem for oriented compact submanifolds of dimension n with parallel normalized mean curvature vector in a space form Fn+p(c).
