The effects of scale inhibitor ATMP in water on nanofiltration

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment, 2019
As a kind of advanced water purification technology, nanofiltration (NF) has been widely used in the treatment of water. In the NF process, scale inhibitor such as aminotris (methylenephosphonic acid) (ATMP, H6atmp, H6L) is commonly added to control ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Evaluation Efficiency of Barium Sulfate Scale Inhibitors by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
The electrochemical behaviour of carbon API 5L X70 grade steel electrode towards barium sulfate scaling and scaling inhibitors is investigated in this paper.

Endogenous Wnt signalling in human embryonic stem cells generates an equilibrium of distinct lineage-specified progenitors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The pluripotent nature of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) makes them convenient for deriving therapeutically relevant cells. Here we show using Wnt reporter hESC lines that the cells are heterogeneous with respect to endogenous Wnt signalling activity.

Graphene oxide/carbon nanotubes nanocoating for improved scale inhibitor adsorption ability onto rock formation

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2019
The formation of mineral scale has been a major constraint in the oilfield operations as it leads to numerous flow assurance issues. Scale deposition in the formation and production tubing can restrict the flow of hydrocarbon and interferes with the ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

THE ROLE OF C-METHYL-4,10,16,22-TETRAMETOXY CALIX[4]ARENE AS INHIBITOR OF CALCIUM CARBONATE (CaCO3) SCALE FORMATION

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
The role of C-methyl-4,10,16,22-tetrametoxy calix[4]arene as inhibitor of calcium carbonate scale formation has been investigated. The result shows that C-methyl-4,10,16,22-tetrametoxy calix[4]arene inhibits a formation of calcium carbobate crystals at a

Experimental study on the compatibility of scale inhibitors with Mono Ethylene Glycol

open access: yesPetroleum Research, 2020
When both of the scaling and hydrate risks occur in deep-water wells or subsea pipelines at the same time, the compatibility between scale and hydrate inhibitors should be paid more attention to for the risk prevention.

Genome-scale architecture of small molecule regulatory networks and the fundamental trade-off between regulation and enzymatic activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Metabolic flux is in part regulated by endogenous small molecules that modulate the catalytic activity of an enzyme, e.g., allosteric inhibition. In contrast to transcriptional regulation of enzymes, technical limitations have hindered the production of ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
