Derivation of Relations between Scaling Exponents and Standard Deviation Ratios [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The law of allometric growth is one of basic rules for understanding urban evolution. The general form of this law is allometric scaling law. However, the deep meaning and underlying rationale of the scaling exponents remain to be brought to light.

Two-loop renormalization group analysis of supersymmetric SO(10) models with an intermediate scale [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Two-loop evolutions of the gauge couplings in a class of intermediate scale supersymmetric SO(10) models including the effect of third generation Yukawa couplings are studied. The unification scale, the intermediate scale and the value of the unification

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Universal Ratios in the 2-D Tricritical Ising Model [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.Lett. 85 (2000) 126-129, 2000
We consider the universality class of the two-dimensional Tricritical Ising Model. The scaling form of the free-energy naturally leads to the definition of universal ratios of critical amplitudes which may have experimental relevance. We compute these universal ratios by a combined use of results coming from Perturbed Conformal Field Theory, Integrable

Rayleigh-Benard Convection in Large-Aspect-Ratio Domains

open access: yes, 2004
The coarsening and wavenumber selection of striped states growing from random initial conditions are studied in a non-relaxational, spatially extended, and far-from-equilibrium system by performing large-scale numerical simulations of Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

The influence of fines content and size-ratio on the micro-scale properties of dense bimodal materials

open access: yes, 2016
This paper considers factors influencing the fabric of bimodal or gap-graded soils. Discrete element method simulations were carried out in which the volumetric fines content and the size ratio between coarse and fine particles were systematically varied.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

CDSKNNXMBD: a novel clustering framework for large-scale single-cell data based on a stable graph structure

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Accurate and efficient cell grouping is essential for analyzing single-cell transcriptome sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. However, the existing clustering techniques often struggle to provide timely and accurate cell type groupings when dealing ...
