Comparison of the classification ratios of four depression rating scales commonly used in Turkey

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Psychopharmacology, 2017
Objective: According to literature more than 20 depression scales are in use in Turkey. Considering that depression is a popular area of study, it may not seem abnormally unusual that there are so many measuring scales available.

Structures in the cosmic ray energy spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
All the components of cosmic rays have 'structure' in their energy spectra at some level, ie deviations from a simple power law, and their examination is relevant to the origin of the particles.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The transition from the adiabatic to the sudden limit in core level photoemission: A model study of a localized system

open access: yes, 1999
We consider core electron photoemission in a localized system, where there is a charge transfer excitation. The system is modelled by three electron levels, one core level and two outer levels. The model has a Coulomb interaction between these levels and

Ratio scales of acid sourness [PDF]

open access: yesPerception & Psychophysics, 1971
Experiments were conducted to assess the relation between concentration, or pH, and the perceived sourness of 24 acids. The psychophysical functions for sourness conform to the power relation S = kCn which relates sensory intensity, S, to physical concentration, C.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Customized Nutrient Standards to Diagnose Nutrient Imbalance in Fertigated ‘Nanica’ Banana Groves

open access: yesHorticulturae
Banana (Musa spp.) is an important fruit production in Brazil, but crop productivity is still too low. The ‘Nanica’ cultivar and fertigation have been introduced, but more accurate guidelines are needed to support fertilization decisions at the orchard ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

CDSKNNXMBD: a novel clustering framework for large-scale single-cell data based on a stable graph structure

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Accurate and efficient cell grouping is essential for analyzing single-cell transcriptome sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. However, the existing clustering techniques often struggle to provide timely and accurate cell type groupings when dealing ...
