Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A Continuous Scale Space of Diffeomorphisms

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences
In this paper, we define and study a nested family of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of vector fields that is indexed by a range of scales, from which we construct a reproducing kernel Hilbert space of scale-dependent vector fields. We provide a characterization of the reproducing kernel of that space, with numerical approximations ensuring quick ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Scaling of Program Fitness Spaces

open access: yesEvolutionary Computation, 1999
We investigate the distribution of fitness of programs concentrating on those represented as parse trees and, particularly, how such distributions scale with respect to changes in the size of the programs. By using a combination of enumeration and Monte Carlo sampling on a large number of problems from three very different areas, we suggest that, in ...

One-Step Synthesis of Polyethyleneimine-Grafted Styrene-Maleic Anhydride Copolymer Adsorbents for Effective Adsorption of Anionic Dyes

open access: yesMolecules
Wastewater containing organic dyes has become one of the important challenges in water treatment due to its high salt content and resistance to natural degradation.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
