Effects of scandium chloride on osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
Journal of Rare Earths, 2022Abstract Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multi-potent cells that are able to differentiate and mature into various types of cells under a certain microenvironment for cell therapy and tissue regeneration. Scandium (Sc), an important rare earth element, recently has been intensively investigated in biomedical fields as well as industrial engineering,

Removal of impurities from scandium chloride solution using 732-type resin
Journal of Rare Earths, 2018Abstract The deep removal of Al, Fe(Ⅱ/Ⅲ), Ca, Zr, Ti and Si from scandium chloride solution was carried out by using 732-type strong acid cation exchange resin. The effects of pH value, contact time and complexing agents (EDTA) on the purification process are investigated.

Experimental Study of Leaching Scandium from Chloride Dust
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Scandium is concentrated in the dust during TiO2 chlorization. The dust can be used as a raw material from which Scandium is extracted. Scandium leaching conditions such as leaching acid concentration , liquid-solid ratio , leaching temperature and leaching time is investigated with chemical analysis through the orthogonal experiment.

The thermal decomposition of yttrium, scandium, and some rare-earth chloride hydrates
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1957Abstract The thermal decomposition of yttrium, scandium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium and gadolinium chloride hydrates was studied on the thermobalance. The salts began to lose water of hydration in the 55 to 110°C temperature range.

Scandium Extraction from Chloride Solutions by a Mixture of Tributyl Phosphate and Molecular Iodine
Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering, 2018It has been established that the addition of elemental iodine significantly enhances the extraction of scandium by means of tributylphosphate. The metal distribution coefficients exhibit an increase with increasing TBP and iodine concentration in the organic phase as well as with increasing chloride ion concentration in the aqueous phase.

Experimental Study on Extracting Scandium from HCl Leachate of Chloride Dust
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Solvent extraction experiment of Sc was investigated. The extraction system consisted of 25% TBP+60% sulfonated kerosene +15% reforming agents. The results show that the extraction rates of Sc can reach up to 95%.The removing of Fe,Mn and Ti can be reached 99.1%, 99.4% and 99.5% respectively. The anti-extraction rates from organic phase with NaOH reach ...

The corrosion behavior of scandium alloyed Al 5052 in neutral sodium chloride solution
Corrosion Science, 2001Alloying with scandium has a strong influence on the strengthening and weight saving characteristics of Al–2.5Mg alloys. Scandium addition (0.1–0.3 wt.%) to Al–2.5Mg alloys does not introduce any appreciable loss in their resistance to corrosion in 3.5 wt.% NaCl.

Pharmacology and Toxicology of Scandium Chloride
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1962The pharmacological and toxicological properties of scandium chloride have been investigated. The intraperitoneal and oral LD50's were 755 mg./Kg. and 4 Gm./Kg., respectively. Studies of chronic toxicity showed no body weight changes occurred in any group except the male rats on a 1% dietary level.

The scandium chloride-cesium chloride phase diagram
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1961The phase diagram of the ScCl/sub 3/-- CsCl binary system was investigated by differential thermal analysis. The system contains a congruent melting 3: 1 compound Cs/sub 3/ScCl/sub 6/ (mp 814 deg C) and a 3: 2 compound Cs/ sub 3/Sc/sub 2/Cl/sub 9/ with a peritectic point at 6l9 deg C. Two eutectic points were found at 613 and 569 deg C corresponding to
